The Ultimate TVM Crypto Wallet: Guide to SparX

With more and more blockchains emerging, the demand for crypto wallets that support multiple networks rise. While Everscale was the first blockchain on TVM launched back in 2020, more TVM-compatible networks such as Venom and The Open Network (TON) have emerged since then.

Currently, there is only one wallet that covers storage and management of crypto assets across all the existing TVM networks: SparX. Read this article to learn more about this wallet app and its features.

What is SparX and Who Developed This Crypto Wallet?

SparX is the product of Everscale’s core developer, the company called Broxus, which used comprehensive experience gained from working on EVER Wallet and other dapps to deliver an even better crypto wallet application.

Following best practices for transparency, developers have published SparX’s source code in GitHub. They maintain and gradually update the repository.

SparX works across several TVM blockchains, including Venom and TON (wallet standards V4R1, V4R2 and V5R1), while retaining the core functionality and convenience of its predecessor. In addition, SparX has a more sleek interface design, and is better technically optimized.

Think of SparX as a next-generation wallet, featuring a highly refined codebase, a sleek new design, and compatibility with multiple blockchain networks. If you’re currently using EVER Wallet, we encourage you to explore SparX as a powerful alternative. While EVER Wallet will remain fully functional and supported for now, SparX offers an enhanced experience that’s worth considering.

How to Start Using SparX

SparX is available as a mobile app (either for iOS or Android), as well as a Chrome browser extension, which is convenient to use in Web3 apps on desktop computers, although you can also connect a wallet to a dapp using the mobile app, which we explain in more detail further below.

Start by either importing an seed phrase—12 words for Everscale and Venom, and 24 words for TON—from another crypto wallet, or by creating a new seed. One seed phrase can be used for creating multiple blockchain addresses (accounts). Switching between accounts in SparX is intuitive, and is executed through a single screen that appears after tapping on the wallet icon in the top left corner:

After you finish setting up your account, you can browse other features. In particular, you can switch between various networks by tapping on the current blockchain’s logo in the top right corner:

As seen on the screenshot, SparX currently works with multiple blockchains: Everscale, TON, Venom and the Tycho Testnet, with more blockchains to be added in the near future.

Make note that an account from TON or Venom will not be available in case the wallet is connected to Everscale, same as it works with other popular crypto wallets such as MetaMask. So, remember to switch between networks to perform operations with corresponding addresses.

After you add an account to SparX for the first time, it will only display a native coin, e.g. EVER for Everscale. To display other crypto assets like WEVER, StEVER or LEVER, you need to enable them by either refreshing (the wallet will then analyze your address’s balance), or by manually toggling tokens from the list:

Sending and receiving crypto with SparX is as straightforward as in any other crypto wallet, however, in SparX it is also possible to initiate an incoming transfer using the automatically generated QR code:

Liquid Staking

We already told you about liquid staking in Everscale, and SparX supports this feature natively to enable stable earnings on EVER coins that would otherwise sit idle on your wallet’s balance. To start, tap the button “Stake” on the main screen, then specify the amount of EVERs you want to stake, and confirm the operation:

Right after staking EVERs, you will receive StEVER tokens to your wallet that you will be able to exchange on FlatQube to any other supported asset. Developers plan to extend the staking feature to Venom.

Connecting SparX to Dapps

Although SparX does not have a Chrome extension, it can connect to any Web3 application. For that, you can enter the built-in web browser through the icon at the bottom:

Its interface is akin to Chrome. Create a new tab, and enter the dapp’s URL address. In our example, we opened Everscale’s DEX, FlatQube. Next, navigate to a page for swapping, and you will see a button “Connect”. Tap on it, and SparX will open in a pop-up window with all the available accounts. Select the one you need and authenticate the connection:

Therefore, you can connect SparX to any dapp in any of the supported blockchains, like Gravix or Tokstock on Everscale, Web3 World and Oasis Gallery on Venom, or Tonstakers and DeDust on TON.

User Support and Future Updates

Even though SparX , it is a new application, and is prone to errors. If you need help with using SparX, or if you find a bug or any other suspicious detail, don’t hesitate to contact Broxus’s technical support team via email, or in the official Telegram chat. Remember that legit Broxus employees never message you first, and never ask for your personal information.

In the near future, developers of SparX plan to release new features to make the app even more useful and multi-purpose. In particular, they are going to release a Chrome extension, and enable storing and transferring NFTs. If you use EVER Wallet, give SparX a try, and you will likely notice a positive evolution, let alone benefit from its availability in TVM networks. Stay tuned for the news!
